    Por Marcos Sommer Los últimos datos de la NOAA proyectan un evento de gran intensidad para el cierre de este año. Por qué el monitoreo científico del Pacífico es una herramienta estratégica indispensable para prever inundaciones y sequías en nuestro territorio. Cuando se habla de El Niño o La Niña suele cometerse una simplificación frecuente: se los asocia a tormentas y lluvias intensas, pero la realidad es que estos fenómenos climáticos son mucho más complejos y tienen un impacto significativo en el clima de Uruguay. En este artículo, exploraremos cómo el Pacífico redefine el clima de nuestro país y por qué el monitoreo científico de este océano es crucial para prever y prepararnos para las consecuencias de estos eventos.
